♥ Apologies with Parties
So after a crazy week I need to apologize to my readers for a lack of BLOG updates last week! I got ran over by the I-need-a-new-job-so-I-went-to-tons-of-interviews-in-my-spare-time train. WHOO WHOO! But I am back in business here to give you the dirty deets on what is up and going on in the city this week!
Wednesday, Jun 30: TONIGHT IS SUCH A SAD NIGHT! It is my good friend Chris Casual’s last night in Austin before he moves to the Big Apple. Those who care will be shedding tears and dancing their ass off at Barbarella tonight to say goodbye and HAPPY BIRTDAY! It is also the lovely Richard Gears (Davey) B-day celebration too. The Allan House is hosting an open house and bridal showcase for all you girls who dream about your walk down the isle this is a chance to come mingle with the best in the bridal biz. There will be cocktails and hors d'oeuvres for those that attend. I want to go and see if some one can help me with my Sleepy Hallow theme wedding. 101x will be hosting the Summer Cinema at Central Market tonight with Beetlejuice too, which I will be showing at my wedding because I love anything black and white striped, and I am in love with the secretary in that movie. Whole foods of course has Cheese Please going on tonight, which if you haven’t been you NEED to go, it is mind blowing!
Thursday, Jul 1: I like since and I like cute nerd boys, thus my love of Big Bang Theory. So I in turn will be attending Nerd Night at Buffalo Billiards, drooling over boys and embracing the saying “It's like the Discovery Channel...with beer!” After if you would like you can take your nerdy bum to watch some nerdy movies with nerdy comedy at The New Movement for 11:11 Cinematheque.
Friday, Jul 2: My love of my favorite TXRD Lonestar Rollergirls team The Putas Del Fuego will be the reason I NEED and WANT to attend Joey Seeman's "Cholas Por Vida" Art Show at Rio Rita Lounge. Described as “tribute to the Cholas, Pachucas, Rucas, gang girls, prison art and Lowrider culture” I might need to line my lips and put my sharpie eyebrows on to fully enjoy this opening! After you should drag your Chola self to Speakeasy Kabaret Room for The Saffire Show. Amber Demure and I stumbled on this gem 2 Fridays ago and had a blast with drag queens and an over haul of Lady Gaga and Pink!
Saturday, Jul 3: I will be warming up for the 97th Tour de France at Mellow Johnny’s Launch Party! This thing will be tons of fun with French theme nosh, Beer, wine, champagne, climbing walls, contest and more! Be here or you’re just an L7 weenie!
Wednesday, Jun 30: She Wants Revenge will be opening for The Psychedelic Furs tonight at Emo’s. I have been invited to this show 5 times and I STILL don’t have the money to go. But next week and every Wednesday after I will getting in some skives and heels and be searching my couch for quarters to afford my Burlesque Classes at Galaxy Dance Studios hosted by Coco Lectric of the Jigglewatts!!!
Thursday, Jul 1: Well if you are NOT in San Antonio watching our home town metal band Set A Flame at Warped Tour, you can go have a Dance Party with Knuckle Rumbler and The Peen Scene and THE ZOO WITH CONGOROCK! Granted it is a $5 but there is free Sailor Jerry at 10pm.
Friday, Jul 2: Whitman, Built By Snow, Guns of Navarone, On After Dark will be jamming up Mohawk till the cops say no more loud music, which is around 11pm ish. Austin's Designer Hearts Performs will be putting on a live shadow cast version of Repo! The Genetic Opera. This is where the movie that came out this year called Repo stole its WHOLE idea.
Saturday, Jul 3: Prep for the 4th with America! Fuck Yeah! At the Parish. They will be doing a screening of Team America and having some bands rock tunes. So I guess think Wizard of Oz and Pink Floyd… BUT NOT.
JULY 4th LIST WILL BE UP ON FRIDAY! BUT THE CALENDER UPDATES WILL BE GOING ON ALL WEEK! SO START MAKING YOUR PLANS!

♥ Lack Luster
After this past week I tend to feel that this week is a little lack luster for sure. but one can't party ALL THE TIME, right?
Sunday, Jun 13, 2010: Hori Smoku Movie, A movie about the life and times of American tattoo artist Norman Collins, sponsored by Sailor Jerry Rum (I have been told FREE drinks) is playing its first night of 2 at Draft House South Lamar. RSVP If you don't make it in no sweat or well maybe it is just the opposite. You can go get extra sweaty at Barbarella where ULoveI will be playing some hip hop tunes for you to back that ass up. But if you are one of those vampire loving nerds minus the sparkles be sure to catch the True Blood Season 3 Premiere Party at Jo's Downtown.
Monday, Jun 14: Is the second showing of the Hori Smoku Movie if you missed the first one... REALLY?! What else where you doing? Why wasn't I there?! Well, I have a good excuse. I won't be out Sunday because I have to count 500 million Affliction shirts at work for inventory. BOO!
Tuesday, Jun 15, 2010: I am pretty sure you will spot Amber and myself at the Beyond Tradition men's launch party. I will be eating all the food and hitting on the male models, which might give the fashion show a run for its money. Belmont is hosting a Summer Solstice Celebration, there will be drink specials but I am not too sure if this one will be worth the trip out on the LONGEST day of the year. If you can't part from home til after the sunsets you might as well stay there or some out to Barbarella for TuezGayz and DAAANCE!
Wednesday, Jun 16: I will be at FutureSounds Rumble head banging and stuffing my face with Free chicken and waffle NOMS! After I will make my way over to watch the end of 101x's Summer Cinema at Central Market which they will be showing Back to the Future, where I might be wishing I can hop in my Delorean and eat more chicken and waffles... Just saying. Also if all of this sounds boring and you want to up your snooty factors there is an Art show at Lanai AND of course Whole Foods Cheese Please tasting!
Thursday, Jun 17: I will be spending 3 hours on my phone doing nothing but tweeting my EVERY MOVE, "I just took 15 steps to the bar and 40 steps to a seat... I am now sitting down..." at the BIG ASS TWITTER HAPPY HOUR!
Friday, Jun 18: Mohawk is having a Beach Party happy hour which I will be attending if the bar tenders are in Speedos and rocking some Bowie bulge. Otherwise I might think about getting some MORE crawfish at Hudsons on 5th, and heading to Whole Foods to watch Blazing Saddles on the roof. Then there is the DJFK's Assassination Proof Dance Party... Ummmm... Just the name makes me giggle so hard I am going to HAVE to pop in with my Jackie O pill box hat.
Saturday, Jun 19: If things don't pick up I will be star gazing with he Austin Astronomical Society for Austin Under The Stars. HEY SCIENCE IS COOL!
Tuesday, Jun 15: Sage Francis will be blowing my mind at Mohawk. I bought tickets over a month ago like a good little fan girl! New Movement Overkill Tweetup Should be worth the $5 for attending if you are a social networking whore like myself. Then there is the Tomato Tuesdays Kickoff Party held at Chupacabra Cantina, which for some reason I though was last week. OOPS! Anyways I really don't think much will beat the $3 charge to assault bad comedians by pelting them with (stuffed) tomatoes!
Thursday, Jun 17: I dont know what is included in this Wet Hot Americn Party! prestented by Knuckle Rumbler but it sounds dirty! I want more details beside the fact that I will be paying $7 if you RSVP on Do512.com or $10 at the door.
Friday, Jun 18: Passion Pit is SOLD OUT! at Stubbs (Need a hot date? TAKE ME!) Big Balls (AC/DC Tribute) will be jaming out at at Emo's if you need some dirty deeds done dirty cheap. Also Do512 Presents: "Girls Who Rock" w/ Ume, Agent Ribbons, Candi and the Strangers at ND at 501 Studios.Old School Jam featuring Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Salt N Pepa, Rob Base, at the Austin Music Hall. No other show will make you miss middle school like this will! Or wanna watch Yo Gabba Gabba BUT IT GOT CANCLED! BOO FRIGGN HISS!

♥ WELCOME! Week of June 6th-12th
First off I feel I need to say sorry for the lack of amazingness that this one day will be. My lovely lads and lass' will have to bare with me for a week or so while I get things up and running smooth.
Of course I pick a hugely BUSY next 2 weeks to get cracking on this project. So I am just going to make this post short sweet and tot he point for now. Excuse the mess!!
No doe doesn't have to mean no go!
June 5th is the opening for the Starving Artist Gala Weekend. Event starts at 11am (to early for my party life style) but there will be free wine and music starting at 7pm
June 6th In the afternoon after you have taken care of you hangover come bake in the sun at the Austin 360 building for the Deep Eddy Vodka Service Industry Pool Party. But if you cant make it then I would recommend participating in some of the BAT DAY events. Adam West will be out an around town, and if you refer to him as the mayor from Family guy and that is it, you maybe to young to be hanging out with me. This just in the Bike Month Closing Celebration will be taking place at Zilker Park and not only will there be bike vendors galore but FREE BEER! (I really need a bike...) And if you are part of the Austin biking family Dropout Issue #4 release party at Fast Folks ahs free beers too, and reffels for prizes! I am going to be buuuusy Sunday!
June 9th I will be ducking in to Whole Foods off 5th and Lamar and partaking in Cheese Please!
June 10th I am wating on more details but Mohawk is hosting a World Cup Happy Hour with free tacos! MMMMMM! And it is one of my fave venues so you SHOULD go!
June 11th You can feed yourself some free Crawdads at Hudson's on 5th and then walk it off and hit up Whole Foods for the Sunset Supper and Cinema series hosted by Alamo Draft House.
June 12th Starting at noon Whole Foods is holding a Taco Fiesta til 3pm, I don't have confirmation but I would bet on there being free nosh. If you don't want to be out that early in the sun be sure to check out the Monster Art Mashup at One Love Art Space, they are asking for a $5 donation but there will be free food and beer!

June 5th in HOUSTON the Free Press Summerfest is going on and damn I wanna be there! Flaming Lips, Girl Talk, CroMags, and Kid Sister... SIGH! I will be in Kyle Texas though attending the Rollergirl Daredevil Stunts Spectacular & Stock Car Racing Event. It is $12 and I get to watch people get set on fire and come out of exploding cars. I don't know what screams Texas more then that.
June 6th for 101x's Birthday bash MGMT is playing a sold out show at Stubbs BBQ... If you need a date you should call me!
June 7th 101x Homegrown Live is having Neon Indian play at Emo's with a cover I can't afford right now.
June 8th 101x is ONCE AGAIN crushing my hopes and dreams with LCD Sound System playing at Stubbs, I am thinking of making myself a picnic and listing out side on the grass by the police parking if you would like to come BYOB in your own discreet container! Beauty Bar is holding the official after party if you wanna sneak me in no cover ;)
